How the hell have *key apps been so under the radar for 9 years?!

@renwillis Misskey, Calckey, Foundkey, that family of apps.
If you want to try one, here’s a server:
@atomicpoet What’s a “*key app”?
@renwillis @Bigou Misskey is older than Mastodon, not Calckey.
Calckey is a fork of Misskey and it’s in active development. So yes, it is more experimental and there’s lots of bugs.
@Bigou @atomicpoet Yeah. While it may be older, Mastodon has been the “first” fediverse experience for a lot of people like me. Even back when I tried it out years ago, it was Mastodon first. Calckey, even if it was first, feels a bit more beta & experimental. I like it. But in the end, it’s still post words, links, and/or media and folks react, reply, and/or share like pretty much all social networks (including photo/video focused ones).
We’ll see! 💕
@renwillis@mstdn.social @atomicpoet@mastodon.social Funny, you're not the first person to describe Calckey like that, especially since Calckey is based on a software 2 years older than Mastodon.
@Bigou @atomicpoet Ah! Thanks. I’m on Calckey now, experimenting. Not sure if I’m getting much out of it over mastodon yet. We’ll see. Right now it just feels like a fancier but beta Mastodon, but I’m still playing around to see how/if it fits into my social media experience or not.
@atomicpoet@mastodon.social @renwillis@mstdn.social Didn't know about #Foundkey. What's the difference with #Calckey?
@atomicpoet People do say that about Misskey too, though.
The 'keys certainly are less ... conservative in their design approach. =)
