   I've never watched the original series of Star Trek before. I'm on the second season. It's so much better than I imagined.
   
   I didn't realise just how much it was ahead of its time and just how much Next Generation was influenced by it.

     @FeartnTired I know Roddenberry created both. I just imagined the really old one would be less creative and not necessarily be as close to the type of story lines you get in later productions.

     @Rogue_Koala He wrote a show bible for TNG dictating how it would look and listing storylines and elements he didn't want in it. quite a few key things got changed off that list even before he died.
