You pose an interesting question about boosts and editing by the original poster.
One way to look at it is the trust you feel between yourself and the person whose post you boost. Boosting random posters' toots may be more problematic than boosting posts from those who are better known to you and less likely to twist their views in a perverse way.
Boosting friends or trusted news sources is more sensible than boosting a random person's work.
Read people's timelines...be safe.

The edit-after-boost issue is an unavoidable one... Notifying people that what they boosted was modified may not be perfect, but I consider it a sensible one. What's missing though is a way to easily detect *what* was changed within the message.

The before versus after presentation is the one that I think should be improved. For those who do software development, yes I am thinking of a diff-like presentation.

@aaribaud @Algot So here's the specific example which inspired me to create my original post about editing posts. The UI might look different for you depending on what client you use. I can see on my end on mobile (here with Megaladon) and also desktop with Elk that there is am indicator (albeit not a that obvious one) in the post. In the second image you can see the changes to the text before and after
