   @tellyworth @marcel @radio @ianbetteridge I would agree on "Automattic has always preferred open protocols and the open web." but I think there are two strategies, one regarding sharing options and one to directly support open protocols. On the sharing side, Automattic is working on supporting Mastodon for example and I am currently working on bringing ActivityPub to WordPress.com. But this it my personal view (with some insights), I am no strategist :)

     @marcel @radio @ianbetteridge Automattic has always preferred open protocols and the open web. Maybe @pfefferle can outline the strategy. (Educated guess: wordpress.com, Jetpack, and Tumblr will support ActivityPub as soon as it can be scaled robustly).
