   I used to share my films under #DilmanShortFilms before moving servers, but now I can't see any of the posts! Says the list is emtpy.

   That's a bit annoying! Nothing to do about it?

     It's not blocking. It's just that by default a server doesn't notice every post on every other server.

     It is for reasons of resources. By default, servers only notice posts when they need to.

     Part of the idea of the Fedi is to keep server costs low so that grassroots groups and individuals can afford to run their own servers. Servers only notice posts when someone on that server has interacted with it or followed the author.

     @xenophora @feditips hmmm I can't imagine why they would block them. Both are very similar, nerdculture.de (old) and mograph.social (new)
     How do you see if your instance has blocked another one?

     Go to the search box at the upper left of this page.

     Type in your username and then click to see the old account in the right hand column of the page. If one instance blocks the other, you should see that indicated in the upper left corner of your old account's banner.
