@csepp I think some of it is residue from the 80s when lisp was relatively unique in having GC, lambdas, a repl, etc, and mainstream alternatives were legitimately very tedious in comparison
but now the status quo has caught up on basically everything but notation and macros
those factors make things a lot more pleasant but not any more productive, and in the mean time the productivity boost you get from a library ecosystem has shot up tremendously
and some people are still continuing with the same arguments from the olden days
