   @dansup hello. Hello. I’ve checked out a couple of weeks ago pixelfed.social then removed profile. Today I’ve tried to register again by using previous username but pixelfed has said “username is taken” (it’s not). Looks like something is broken in system which allows to remove user’s profile.

     @aisteel Hi, you cannot reuse a deleted username. It's clearly stated on the Delete Account screen.

     @aisteel @Utzer I made the decision to hide following/followers from guests early on as a way to preserve privacy but looking back now, I can see how it could be portrayed as platform lock-in.

     I'll fix this ;)

     @utzer @dansup I know about this option, thanks. It wouldn’t be a problem but unlike Mastodon, Pixelfed doesn’t allow to look through user’s followers/following while not being a part of user’s instance. It urges to use most crowded pixelfed instance (pixelfed.social in our case).

     @aisteel but you can get an account on another instance with the same username, so the part in front of the @ can be the same on another instance if you like to use another server.
