augustus pugin 🌖>As of 2014, an estimated 80.5% of American men are circumcised, and the prevalence of the procedure is considered to be near-universal in the country.[14][44] After favorable statements on circumcision were published by major medical organizations in the United States, including a 2012 statement on circumcision by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and a 2014 statement by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the incidence of circumcision in the United States has likely risen.[16]
>Another study, published in early 2009, found a difference in the neonatal male circumcision rate of 24% between states with and without Medicaid coverage. The study was controlled for other factors such as the percentage of Hispanic patients.[47] so it is subsidized by Medicaid?
@augustus I was blown away when I first learned that most American men are snipped, holy shit, whatever psy-op was behind that shit was ridiculously successful.
>Methodologically flawed calculations throughout the 2000s and 2010s showed the rate decreasing off of these statistics, but this data is believed to be misleading due to an increasing trend of performing neonatal circumcisions outside of hospitals, a trend not reflected in hospital discharge data.[20][49][50] I always thought it was going down, but this says otherwise. Not sure I trust
@ChristiJunior@augustus I was told it was a post-WWII Jew doctor thing. Their reasoning being "if we chop up everyone's junk, we can never be holocausted again".
@augustus@lain There was that one Canadian doctor who researched infant circumcision. Found that it caused permanent brain damage/alteration. Was then told to destroy all research data and never ask the question again under threat of losing his license.
@parker@ChristiJunior@augustus In the US it started much earlier. John Kellog (the cereal guy) was a quack health guru who advocated for things like oil enemas, electro-convulsive therapy, and breakfast cereal as a way to cure "sin" and help you live longer. He was also the first guy in the US to push circumcision on the goyim really hard.
