@davemark As an interfaith minister with a simple credo - “Love is All There Is” - I don’t recommend people follow religious dogma UNLESS the premise of the law/rule serves “The Greater Good.” So much to consider in deciding whether to eat the fruit. One is we know trees we plant now are not similar to those planted in ancient times. It takes a deep dive to extract the original underlying initiative . Resources are esoteric and vague. Open to endless interpretations.

LAF and LOVE (revlindsay@mstdn.plus)'s status on Monday, 24-Apr-2023 02:33:10 JST LAF and LOVE @davemark There are cultural/religious ancient prohibitions on eating the fruit of a tree for the first 3 years. Looking through my anthropologist filter I wonder what the practical impact such “laws” have on the tree and the community. Any horticulturists out there with an educated opinion about this?
