   The question is why, instead of pressing Feinstein to retire, Democrats in "leadership" are pretending there's a chance in hell that the same/more fascist Republican party that pulled out every stop to steal Obama's right to appoint a SCOTUS justice, would ever pass up the chance to block Democrats from seating other judges they are entitled to seat.

     I wonder if the Senate of, say, the 70s or 80s would have processed the Feinstein attempted temporary departure from Judiciary without partisan roadblocks. Nobody filibustered Clarence Thomas in 1991 when he was confirmed 52-48.
