   I have been hoping that social media services would get less American centric, and that open source systems like Mastodon or one of the many other tools might allow other cultural groups to run more culturally sensitive instances.

   It seems like even when reasonably run, US companies struggle to provide reasonable moderation for non-English users.

     Yup, you don't have a moral obligation to leave Twitter! If you still use #Twitter, it's FINE.

     Believe it or not, many parts of the world are still happily on Twitter enjoying themselves.

     Also a semi-rant about being a non-American in the heavily North American Mastodon.

     I was urged to write this, so I did. Here's to hoping for civilised debate!
