   Weird ending to this week's @onthemedia , where Brooke and @zoeschiffer mock Mastodon. Brooke acts as if Mastodon doesn't exist any more and says it wasn't successful, and Zoe says she's "not willing to put up with a Mastodon-like experience."

   I get that it's not for everyone, but the idea that there aren't a ton of people here interacting all the time is... weird.

     @mmasnick sounds like they got hung up on choosing a server and never actually used mastodon. That was my story until Twitter started to get really bad and I spent the extra 20 minutes necessary to familiarize myself enough with the interface on Mastodon to find an appropriate server for me and use it.

     @HelloAndrew not quite. Zoe was actually using Mastodon for a bit... but gave it up.

     @jdblair it kinda felt like Brooke remembered that one @onthemedia segment with @clive, and because she hasn't heard about it since, assumed that people hadn't really moved over.

     Especially odd since they had this pretty decent segment a while back with Clive Thompson reporting on Mastadon.

     @jbaggs @onthemedia @zoeschiffer the segment was mostly about NPR and other public media stations leaving Twitter, and they close out by talking about how it would be good if there were somewhere else to go, and Brooke says people were pitching Mastodon but that wasn't successful, then Zoe says she won't put up with it, says she's hoping there will be somewhere else she can go and that's it.
