This is such a striking and fascinating graph — in part because of the way it seems to defy definitive explanation.That’s not to say people don’t •think• there are definitive explanations; I’ve heard people confidently state that it’s all due to economic globalization, deregulation, over-regulation, women entering the workforce, tax policy, decline of unions, minimum wage…the list goes on. But I hear no clear, simple consensus.
