We watched "Ted". It's pretty funny and sweet and fart jokes, but one of the particularly funny things to me is how Ted and John are supposed to be speaking Bostonian, but they just speak generic Caliyorkian and then throw in a "caah" or "faaht" when they remember to do it. -

@ptec3d The extent of my US immersion is two weeks back in my early teens and a few days in my early adulthood, and endless hours of Friends, Airwolf, half-hour infomercials when nothing was on just after school, and Buffy. =)
So I'm by no means an expert and I have a hard time placing many dialects, but to my unsophisticated ears their accent in Ted 2 sounded more consistent and more Bostonian. Seems like they worked on it a bit between movies!

@clacke Wife and I watched that movie last month, for the first time for both of us, and enjoyed it. And we're in our 60s... And I guess I'd have to have lived in the States for a while before that became obvious to me. I can just about tell "you guys" from "y'alllllllll" but that's my limit.
