@valkyrie I could see this happening if the filament is unevenly heated (if it's not just plain physical deformation of the filament)

v (valkyrie@wandering.shop)'s status on Thursday, 06-Apr-2023 05:09:07 JST v maybe it's an issue with the entire hotend? just put on a new nozzle and it didn't help

v (valkyrie@wandering.shop)'s status on Thursday, 06-Apr-2023 05:09:11 JST v #3dprinting friends can you help me diagnose the issue? filament keeps coming out corkscrewed onto the heatbed, which causes failed prints before the first layer is even up (filament twisting back on the nozzle and globbing up)
seems like an issue inside the extruder?
also whenever i unload filament, the part that comes back out of the extruder already has spiral patterns pressed into it but to a much lesser extent. not like that before entering.
printer: prusa i3 mk3s+
filament: generic PLA
