   If someone replies to your toot but don't keep your @ in the reply, you get no notification about the reply. This seems like a big problem! If anyone uses my posts to spread their ideas to my readers, I want to know about it.

     @starseekr Haha, yes this is another problem: There's no indication in the UI itself that one toot is part of a thread. You have to infer it from the fact that it starts with an @, but it's not hard to think of many reasons to start with @ without being a thread. @thomasrost #Mastodon #MastoMeta

     @forteller @starseekr @thomasrost That's definitely a client issue. If I have access to the post being replied to, my client clearly indicates that a post is a reply.

     @starseekr @eviloatmeal @thomasrost So we have two big issues here:

     1) No notification if someone replies without your @
     2) Sometimes no UI indication in the home timeline that a post is in replay to another post.

     I'm trying to see if this has already been reported in the GitHub issues, but I'm really bad at searching. If any of you can find it, please let me know. If not we need to create new issues for this.

     @starseekr @eviloatmeal @thomasrost Oh and btw, the fact that you don't get any notifications about boosts or likes on your boosts here is a problem, because it makes things seem much more dead here than on the bird site. I love seeing what impact my interactions have. If I see others like/boost what I boost, then I feel like there's a reason for me to come back and boost more. If I don't get anything like that, it seems nothing I do matters much. #Mastodon #MastoMeta
