    Time traveling film #Predestination from 2014 starring Ethan Hawke sounds interesting. Good grades on rottentomatoes and by some random nerds on the internet I saw recommend it.

    I'll be mighty impressed if the last mission and the elusive time traveler he has to chase down is not himself. That smells like the unavoidable plot twist. Predestined, almost.

      @clacke It's based on a short story called "all you zombies".
      to give a tiny spoiler, it's a trans story. To give a huge spoiler, next toot.

      @clacke not just his own assassin, but his own mother, father and lover.

      @zens @clacke This is one of those movies I will always remember because it is so incredibly what the heck once you've seen.

      Like, you correctly guessed the villain, but you'd never expect it's literally just everyone in the movie.

      Somewhere someone drew the timeline out for this movie and it's an absolute roller coaster.

      @clacke let us know if it's not quite so predictable? It sounds a bit interesting but I'd prefer to have you first quality check it ;)

      @ocdtrekkie
      I had a good sense of where the film was going. Then "I'm My Own Granpaw" came on the jukebox, and I knew it was either directly from the Heinlein story or an Easter egg referring to it. This is an audacious and very successful attempt to film a story you'd think was unfilmable.

      Another surprising film loosely based on Heinlein is the Japanese film "The Door Into Summer." Highly recommended.
