   Somehow, I hate Jonny Silverhand. While the concept of the character is amazing, he seems to be missing a few rewrites. He's literally in my head, but I haven't heard him say a single line that impressed me in any significant way.

     @a7 @BlinkRape @LukeAlmighty @beardalaxy i saw a little bit of developer commentary about that. apparently someone in the studio got the idea to bring reeves in and when he agreed the producers completely changed the tone of the game. prior to that it really was a character drama about V--which is probably why the early development looked more open RPG and post-reeves doesn't.
     
     i think i commented before about there is something poetic about the player character just being skinsuited for a celebrity. it is peak cyberpunk capitalism. (even if we'd have really rather had the original design.)

     @beardalaxy @LukeAlmighty I found the whole Johnny thing to be annoying and screamed more of a last minute bid to try and save the game in some way.
     
     There is really nothing outside the game aside from the whole Johnny thing, which is weird. It's like they were forced to throw out vast amounts of work at the last minute or something.
     
     I guess that's what you get when you go woke and hire a bunch of shitty female developers.

     @LukeAlmighty at first, johnny just pissed me off and was annoying. i ended up liking him a lot though. doing his whole side quest really shows off his character more. not to mention, the car you get from it is fucking awesome.

     do you have a favorite song from the game so far?

     @a7 @BlinkRape @LukeAlmighty @beardalaxy Silverhand isn't really meant to be likeable. The deep lore on him is that he's basically a sociopathic rockerboy and there's some narrative silliness involved. Basically he wasn't meant to be a character that was played. Just kind of a "hey look, its that crazy guy, isn't that a crazy story" that was drafted in the 80s cause that's when the game originally came out.
     
     At some point he was given an actual stat sheet so he could be in a purchasable module. Because rockerboys need an empathy stat to do things they set his high. But someone apparently asked how that works out and R.G. basically responded yeah Silverhand's "actual" empathy score is like zero, but mechanically had to be maxed or he wouldn't function, so it's basically *canon* that he's garbage.

     I liked Silverhand's character. He never annoyed me. I honestly thought most of the characters and acting were flushed out. The artwork and fake adverts were great too. It was the game engine that really killed everything. It also didn't feel like Reeves was just an add-on .. felt like his dialogue was written pretty well to push V's growth.
     
     I didn't do a lot of the side-quests though. I did like the Jesus one and just a few others. A bug kept me from ever being able to complete the limo driver one. I'm sure there might have been some good content there, but I was sick of the game bugs and just wanted to get through it.

     @icedquinn@blob.cat @BlinkRape@posting.lolicon.rocks @LukeAlmighty@gameliberty.club @beardalaxy@gameliberty.club games pretty linear and small, but i had fun playing it. The story is pretty much just a mash up the sprawl books, so throwing johnny mnemonic in it made a little sense.

     @a7 @BlinkRape @LukeAlmighty @beardalaxy it is but if you play the side content before the main story its a much better game.
     
     apparently analytics said most people were stopping witcher 3 before the half way point and they interpreted this to mean the plot trodded on past its welcome and decided they were going to make the game wider instead of longer.

     @LukeAlmighty He'd be a lot better if he wasn't Keanu Reeves imo. Keanu just can't act. Even V's VAs do a better job at portraying Silverhand than Keanu does, during the scenes where V speaks some of Silverhand's lines.
