@QasimRashid I am still absolutely *staggered* that this is the level of discourse being put into print at one of the largest newspapers on the planet. When did journalism sink to this level of full-on irresponsibility?

It’s an old song. As the shit hit the fan in 2008, I heard numerous people, including my own broker, claim it was due to the government requiring that banks loan to unqualified minorities. Drove me bat shit.

@QasimRashid Some of the other headlines on the front of WSJ today caught my attention:
"Banking Crisis Calls Fed's Rate Path Into Question" -- so it's the Fed's fault? And not the bank or deregulation?
"How to Protect Your Money From a Bank Collapse" -- so the customers are supposed to mitigate risk now? Nevermind all those pesky regulations from 1929...
... and a couple other headlines. It seems they're casting around for any scapegoat except deregulation, or the bankers themselves.

@QasimRashid historically every previous bank failure was accomplished without the assistance of LGBTQIA, people of any ethnicity that isn't white, and women. White men in suits have been crashing economies for centuries LoL ??

@QasimRashid The part that gets me is SVB referring to their board members as 1 Black and 1 LGBTQ+. Not even bothering to use a word like “person” or “members”. Just a number of the specific quality they consider the defining characteristic. The dehumanizing is obscene.
