I finally got myself a full-length mirror in my room. Why did I wait so long to do this? So cool. CW for eye contact.

I'll be in a foul state of mind, beating myself up again, and then catch a reflection I don't normally see (often while I'm out somewhere) and I'll think "Whoa! Who's that cute boy-girl? Oh. Wait! That's me!"
BTW, I really, really need to bum that entire outfit off you.

In this new context, which only existed starting last night, I've always known that I was trans. I've always known that my body didn't particularly match how I felt inside.
And when I spotted myself in the mirror this morning, before I took this picture, I saw myself not as a man deluding himself, but as a woman with an unconventional body.
Didn't expect that.

Kit Rhett Aultman (roadriverrail@signs.codes)'s status on Saturday, 11-Mar-2023 04:38:52 JST Kit Rhett Aultman @taedryn It is "normal", but it looks really well put-together. On top of that, the femme in me is a total basic, so it speaks to her. But even moreso, I'm just really loving the outfit because it's an example of a solution to a problem I have-- the lack of good options for professional clothing as a transfemme enby. I'd definitely love to have a sweater like that one; I don't know how to even start finding it, though.

I'm liking this outfit, but it feels pretty normal to me. It's interesting that so many people are commenting positively on it. Maybe my normal taste is more generally pleasing than I thought. ? The sweater is new, this is my first time wearing it.

One of the skills I acquired as an AFAB is knowing how to help other people find femme clothes, and I have the deepest urge to use this skill on nb and trans femmes.

Kit Rhett Aultman (roadriverrail@signs.codes)'s status on Saturday, 11-Mar-2023 04:48:10 JST Kit Rhett Aultman @taedryn I just wish I knew if that particular cut of sweater had a name, because it's that crisscross shape I think I'd like to add to my wardrobe. My biggest challenge in professional wear is looking femme enough that people don't misgender me out of reflex but not looking so femme that I trip someone's subconscious "man in a dress" alarm bells. A nice rotation of the right kind of cardigans and sweaters helps with that.

taedryn 🏳️⚧️ (taedryn@dice.camp)'s status on Saturday, 11-Mar-2023 04:48:11 JST taedryn 🏳️⚧️ @roadriverrail I got it at Goodwill, so I can't be much help there. I am 100% sure it was made in China, so looking at some of the Chinese fast fashion (ptui) sites would be a good place to start. The one I've heard of is Shein or something like that. Search on sweaters. I was very impressed with Dresslily (dresslily.com) for some dresses I got recently, they were cheap and arrived quickly, but they're solidly low-class fast-fashion quality.
