   Well #today I get to lay some ethernet cable behind a book case and a big chair so that I can connect it to my laptop.

   Should be fun crawling around on my arthritic knees trying to reach behind 6 cubby holes at the bottom.

   But, when I'm done, I'll have a more solid connection. So... yay!

     @Mrfunkedude Mr. mayor, is there an electrical outlet close to where your laptop needs to be?

     if so, you may want to look into ethernet over power, or powerline ethernet adapters. They shove ethernet... over the power cables in your home. You just have to run ethernet cables to the outlets on either end. You could use these WITH a wireless repeater to shoot fresher wifi into your laptop space.

     @tezoatlipoca I've used them before. No need in this instance as I'm only about ten feet away from the router (25 feet to run it along the wall.)

     Also, my girlfriend is a buyer for a cable manufacturer/distributer and I can get the cable for free.

     Thanks for the advice tho! Really nice of you to offer to help!

     I got it laid out and running behind the book case and my chair. Plugged it in after I made the cables look nice and now its running great!
