   I've temporarily reduced the prices again, for laptops sold via https://minifree.org/

   I recently acquired a large batch of both X230 and T440p, slightly cheaper than I usually get them, so I've passed that saving to customers.

   These are secure machines, with Libreboot (based on coreboot) which replaces proprietary BIOS/UEFI firmware.

   Your choice of Linux distro, OpenBSD or FreeBSD - if no request is made, I default to providing Debian Linux.

   Full disk encryption by default, for all orders.

     @kouk That photo is the definition of anxiety; I would never allow any quantity of liquid so close to my machine.

     I drink a lot of tea (english breakfast tea, occasionally green tea), but I always have it at least one metre away from my machine.

     I'm glad your laptop arrived safely!

     This is not the exception, but the norm for refurbished and liberated computers. Minifree's prices are an absolute steal.

     And the support is great. When my laptop had a faulty RAM module after a year or so of usage, Leah helped me figure out the problem and sent me replacement modules free of charge, no questions asked, no need to send my laptop in.

     @libreleah Bit pricey. The T440p (10 years old) can be bought for as cheap as £149.00 on eBay The X230 (11 years old) the cheapest is £104.00 eBay again.

     Having said that, they're great machines. I've owned and sold both models over the years. These days I try not to sell any refurbs over three years old. It's just not worth the aggro.

     I have found an X220 completely usable with current Linux distributions for pretty heavyweight tasks. It'll handle video streaming, for instance.

     @libreleah I really like seeing these being opened up and sold at a nice price.

     For anyone a bit dubious about these because they are "low spec", I know for a fact that you can put "unsupported" i7 CPUs into the T440p and despite being 4th gen Intel, these make for excellent dev machines and even play a mean game of Minecraft.
