what I don't get is not that someone would hallucinate such a silly thing, but that others would willingly just take their word for it and happy start chopping off their own dicks. maybe there's a metaphor there.

@toiletpaper @sim When you live in the desert where you can't access much water and have extremely poor hygiene it turns out your dick gets really fucking nasty after a few months of being unwashed. Circumcision makes it somewhat less disgusting in this specific scenario. Because of that, all babies need to get their dicks chopped the moment their born, even in modern society where we bathe more than half a dozen times a year.

This is what it means to have fair privilege... men will just give you things in an attempt to woo you and your family.

I'm going to have to come back to Babel... like, why did he confound their language for building a city and tower?

Every time there is a rainbow, God remembers his covenant with man and all living creatures on earth... took me a moment to realise this bow was a rainbow.

Long lists of names... that's another one that makes it harder to keep reading, it's very jarring. These are often names that don't end up meaning anything else in the story, no idea what happens to them.

I do find it interesting that upon seeing the evil of man, it speaks of God being repentant and with grief for what he had created. Not sure about the destroying part...
