  @aaribaud il me semble que cold en tant d'adjectif signifie froid, et pour le nom équivalent en français c'est coldness

  Je m'étais posé la question sur "the cold" pour "le froid" et j'avais regardé sur linguee les sources externes pour "résister au froid". On y voit de nombreux exemples de "cold" et "the cold".
  Quant à coldness c'est le fait pour une chose (ou un être) d'être froid plutôt que le froid en tant que lui-même, non ?
