? About 21 hours of photons trapped on Boogeyman and Caspar the Friendly Ghost now, this target deserves more integration time. It's not going to be visible for much longer (astronomical targets have seasons) so perhaps need to finish it next year unless I get a lucky break in the clouds. #astrophotography

Depending on where you live this affects the whole sky (at the equator), only parts of the sky (most of us) or, if you happen to live on the North or South Pole, you can always see everything in your celestial hemisphere.

richh@mastodon.cloud's status on Sunday, 26-Feb-2023 04:40:58 JST richh @thomasfuchs Gorgeous. How do you integrate multiple observing sessions? I’m just starting and have been treating sets of darks/flats/bias as unique to one set of lights in DSS. Do you throw all the frames from each session in together, or stack each session and then stack the resulting outputs in a separate stage?

Thomas 🔭🕹️ (thomasfuchs@hachyderm.io)'s status on Sunday, 26-Feb-2023 04:40:58 JST Thomas 🔭🕹️ @richh In Pixinsight's pre-processing you can define groups of files (e.g. different nights) and use separate correction frame sets for each group.
Pixinsight will then correct frames per group but can still stack all subs (if they're same exposure time) across multiple nights.
Alternatively, you can also process separate stacks, then linearly match ranges and average the exposures together.
