I'm starting to block Covid gloom and doom folks. I take it seriously ( I have to, I'm high risk), but everything they are saying conflicts with my lived experience post vaccine, and everything I am reading that is evidence based. Plus, I just can't handle it anymore. I will do my best not to contract it (so far it's working) and I certainly don't want to spread it, but the amount of fear they're spreading isn't realistic, IMO.

Mr. Funk E. Dude (mrfunkedude@mastodon.social)'s status on Monday, 20-Feb-2023 00:50:49 JST Mr. Funk E. Dude @OldAndCranky I have a theory that we live in an information based social commerce due to social media, where sharing "important info" regardless of it's source allows people to feel like they are making an active contribution and should be ranked higher on a social scale because of it.

LadyT (ladyt@mastodon.social)'s status on Monday, 20-Feb-2023 01:33:20 JST LadyT @Mrfunkedude I believe this is what drives conspiracy theorists who are 9/10 times a little bit thick. The 'I'm so clever I can see right through the propaganda intelligent people are feeding you' - look on any fb page or group concerning the disappearance of Madeline McCann
