   @SethBrown @thor There is no advantage to having necessities out of reach. Most of Hong Kong is a 5-minute city, 15 minutes if you include less frequently used facilities like cinema.

     I've seen people talking about re-designing cities so that everything you need is within a 15 minute walking range.

     Don't know if that is a good thing or not.

     It smells like a Klaus Schwab "global reset" theology to me.

     That said, I haven't left the house much since the start of the pandemic in 2020. :(

     they said that the average medieval person spent their entire lives within a few square kilometers of their birthplace

     it's not like that these days but it also is. i don't wander far from my home on most days.
