If you want to move your Mastodon account from one server to another, you can keep your follows and followers if you complete all the steps in this guide:

By the way, don't delete your old account after the move, because it will redirect people to your new account and keep your old posts in existence. Your old posts will still have your old account's name, but when people click on them they'll see a message directing them to the new account.

Then your old posts would disappear :( as there's currently no way of transferring posts.

Yes, really good point, some of this process can take a while as servers catch up with their workload.

@feditips this is great. Hiwever, i suggest a delay of 10-15 minutes before step 3 as it doesnt seem to work well if done immediately.

If you do absolutely all of these steps, you should have imported your following list too.
The steps in the original post combine two totally separate processes: moving your followers and moving your follows.
If your follows aren't transferring too, something has gone wrong.
You shouldn't need to go down any lists manually.

Did you export data as separate CSV files, or did you press the "request your archive" button?
It's the separate CSV files you need, not the archive.
Also, when you're importing, you need to pick the correct file type for each CSV file you import.

I will try to re-write the guide soon.
You would need access to the old account to get the CSV files.
(By the way, whatever you do, it's a good idea to leave the old account in existence so it can redirect to your new account.)

Your followers aren't connected to data imports or exports. They transfer via the account alias steps.
The export/import is just about settings, who you follow, who you block etc.
