@ceruds @BackupHitter @JapanAnon Do you have a single fact to back that up?

@JapanAnon @Zerglingman @BackupHitter That's a nice theory, but think about it. Back in early 10s we had lots of great games. Nowadays, we have online-only games, or even SP games with Denuvo.

@Ace66062 @ceruds @JapanAnon @BackupHitter Roughly, yeah. It's actually only a year younger than Minecraft, as a funsies. It describes itself as a game engine and that's reasonable. There are mineclone2 and mineclone5 that try to full replicate MC gameplay, minetest itself is much more basic. I think it has furnaces? But doesn't have plant growth or anything.
Then I'd like to draw your attention to Urban Terror, Din's Curse and Sins of a Solar Empire.

@Zerglingman @Ace66062 @BackupHitter @ceruds actually, Minetest does have functioning seeds and planting mechanics. More rudimentary, but wheat, tree saplings, papyrus, and cotton are farmable

@Zerglingman @JapanAnon @BackupHitter @ceruds only Xonotic and Veloren but im assuming minetest is just Minecraft but without the recent retarded report system and other pozzed garbage

@Zerglingman @JapanAnon @BackupHitter @ceruds >Same, but my point is that that list answers the question of online requirement, ie. the most jewish of DRMs. The game itself isn't out to fuck you around, it just wants to let you have fun.
This was about games getting so many remasters and remakes nowadays, I don't know why you randomly brought up the minuscule amount of le freedom games with Xonotic and Veloren being the only decent ones. (and the latter still being unfinished)

In xonotic's case, doesn't it support bots? Not that bots will make the game, but, again, it's going to do its best to let you enjoy it your way.

@Zerglingman @Ace66062 @BackupHitter @ceruds wild cotton exists, and drops seeds a percentage of the time when harvested. Wheat seeds come from ordinary grass in the plains biome. Papyrus grows near water in desert or savanna biomes.
Most seeds/saplings only grow when two conditions are met: 1) placed on a dirt block that's been turned farmable by a hoe, and 2) the farmable block is adjacent to water. Papyrus only needs the second condition, though, since it only exists as a block without a seed/sapling form.

@JapanAnon @ceruds @BackupHitter @Ace66062 Huh.
I do vaguely remember picking up saplings, but I don't remember them growing.
I don't think I ever got wheat or cotton, I don't think I saw papyrus grow.

@Zerglingman @Ace66062 @BackupHitter @ceruds Might have been bad luck. Or a bug... I had a bugged mapgen once that simply wouldn't spawn any naturally occurring papyrus

@JapanAnon @ceruds @BackupHitter @Ace66062 Yeah I punched all the grass I saw and I don't remember ever seeing a wheat seed.
