   Seeing @danb and so many other gray beard devs here, makes it feel like the 1980s all over again. Sometimes I feel like everything that happened since was just a detour on the information highway and that maybe now the fedi can help make society pull-off a massive bootleg turn and we all just start over.

   I can dream, right?

     @shoq @danb The thing is, society broke, and it's way to hard to put it back together again. When we were living in the idealism of 80s connectivity I guess we didn't really see how bad it would get. I remember watching a wild flame war on BIX in '90 with the Iraq War and it was bad, and thinking it was bad.

     But I never realized how bad it would get.

     @WecanbeGyros @shoq @danb No worries. My post wasn't clear. It was about the war being bad (we knew that). It was that online behavior got out of hand!
