   In 3.17.0, #Fedilab introduced an automatic cache feature for the home timeline.
   The goal is to cache your home messages even if you don't use the app.
   It is per account and you can adjust the fetch time (default: disabled).
   If you have a very active home timeline, it can be useful. The app will keep it for you in cache during 7 days.

     Yes, you're perfectly right. The goal of this feature is to cache in background home messages so the limit of 400 messages will not impact users having an active timeline.

     Very interesting.

     Do I understand this correctly: the app fetches new posts on my Home timeline at the given intervall and stores these for up to 7 days --- without limit on the number of posts?

     That is, via the cache the usual limit of max 400 posts in Home effectively no longer applies? If so, this is remarkable.

     (The 400 limit is of course a major constraint for users who follow more than ~200 accounts.)

     Love the new features, but toot composing was broken by this update. I can browse, reply, favorite, boost etc., but the app immediately crashes when pushing the compose button. It happens on mobile (Pixel/Android 13) and Chromebook whether the app is active or when the "press and hold" shortcut is attempted.

     Replying from the app now but forced to use Chromebook web or Pixel mobile browser to compose original top-level toots. TIA for looking into this.

     Thanks for the quick reply! Is that something a user can disable or should I wait for the next update? I don't remember enabling it on either device, though I could be wrong.

     Otherwise Settings > Compose > Group mentions at the top should be unchecked.
