     @JMMaok There's an entire conference industry - professionals who are part of MPI (Meeting Professional International) https://mpiweb.org -- Meeting magazines and sites (https://meetings.net), certifications i.e. https://www.eventscouncil.org/CMP/About-CMP

     It's a massive industry, and they are heavily invested in Twitter for promotion and other activities

     Any chance anyone gets, volunteer to explain to them, get on local agendas, write for them, etc.

     @colinfry666 @JMMaok I know that, but they, like everyone else, are wondering what all the noise about Mastodon is as the other place goes through convulsions, so it doesn't hurt to provide them guidance.

     @jimcarroll @JMMaok Without universally searchable hashtags, this space isn’t good for conference delegates. Groups get too noisy and a conference account trying to boost everything conference-related would be tricky and tedious.

     Would love it to work, but it isn’t there yet.
