Well tbh I've had a cough. But I can still taste things. I can't remember any of the other unique symptoms. But I THINK having my taste is a good sign lol
This is concerning. I'm also drop dead tired. Feverish. Had a few on and off headaches too. Even sumatriptan wasn't helping which usually it does. I consider it a miracle drug for migranes and cluster headaches.
@LTJG_Pliskin@IgnorantHussy@darniil Covid seems to have a myriad of symptoms, I felt like I was on fire then ice cold in a matter of seconds, but I could still taste and smell.
Noticing a lot of people having terrible “flus” this past year
I had covid 2ice. Never once lost taste. The taste version isn't the main one anymore. The first time it felt like the flu. I was dead tired and had this insanely painful headache and high fever. I did the covid protocol with vitamins and it still took over a week to not get exhausted from short tasks. The second time it presented like the stomach flu. This version is by far the worse...because it never ends.
Problem is, you'd also be annoyed if they let everyone derail in 5 different directions and cause the game to lag to a halt. Gotta find the middle ground between railroading and a total shitshow.
My buddy David plays and has a group he plays with. They seem pretty lax and id love to join them someday. I think I'd be annoyed if I wanted to do something and they blocked me from doing so lol
@LTJG_Pliskin@Doll@IgnorantHussy@darniil DnD is only fun with a carefree Dungeon Master, I was a paladin who tried to preach to every whorehouse around, but the DM wouldn’t let me veer off the story
Depends on the campaign really, you need to hammer that shit out before it gets too far in though. Same with stuff like PvP. Or you end up with problems and people RQing.
To stop it, all it takes is dropping one NPC that is level 20 and they'll learn not to be quite as retarded next time.
People get very attached for a number of reasons, some hate losing for others it's the sunk cost fallacy etc.. Depending on your system it can be difficult/impossible to revive them. Some tables keep characters, others use premade characters and/or swap them between campaigns. Generally you'd just roll up a new character and continue, sometimes at a slightly lower level or something.
Campaigns aren't necessarily linked together, most games rarely get that high at all. They just keep starting over the early game with different scenarios, for one reason or another.
Let me ask as someone who knows ultimately jackshit. Why do people get absolutely frazzled when their character dies? Is it a rule that when you die in a campaign you perma die? Also, do you like... build this character over multiple campaigns? And does that interfere with stories?
For instance if my first campaign got me to a (gonna make up words here) level 33 demigod wizard with a +99 sword
Does this screw up the second campaign where the DM wants us to be freshed faced baby warriors?
One campaign I played in, we found a book called Central Casting which had a lot of extra ways to flesh out your character. One of the players was rolling on a table for something (I forget what), and it ended up killing his character. Before we'd even started the campaign. We joked that he died in a black & white flashback.
There's also a common occurrence (if you can't get your character resurrected) to play a distant cousin with a different name but same class and level, who inherits your previous character's equipment. This would honestly be the ideal opening scene to any D&D movie.

Running joke in here lol, the wizard too because of course it is lol
Only to have the entire cast remain in the starting tavern, trying to get high, drunk, and laid while every chance to engage in a quest passes them by...
Fucking 5 3-hour episodes in, and they finally decide to get into a quest... That was still inside the starting tavern...
Bizzlesnaff has the patience of a saint with those idiots...
I've drawn sketches before for a lot of my characters, but at the tabletop, I usually just try to find something that's close. Nowadays we're usually using polymer figures, but sometimes we'll get nostalgic and break out the pewter ones.
Not yet. But I definitely want to. lol I'm not skilled with painting minis so I'd either need to get @JackBQuick to paint them for me, or just spring for the already painted option.
It's really funny you linked Hero Forge, I mocked these up a year ago, when I was contemplating joining a campaign digitally with my friend who bought me the starwars dnd books. lmao
(I think you can guess where I took the inspiration...)
