   Westerners these days are so sensitive towards whether you call them "he" or "she".
   Despite having been around on the English internet for over a decade now, I still can't understand what's the big deal about that.
   
   Whether you call me "he" or "she", I don't care, I'm fine either way.
   But westerners though...
   If Japan's international borders remain closed just to keep the woke cancer out, then I guess I'd prefer a 鎖国 2.0.

     @ryo I think it's ridiculous to get worked up over pronouns too, especially on the internet where you could choose to... be anonymous.

     Dumb fuckers have convinced themselves they need to announce every detail of their life online now and it's stupidity incarnate.

     I blame social media. It wasn't like this back when topic based forums or BBSs were the main form of online contact.

     Let's enjoy while it's still an option though...
     Web 2.0's centralized big tech and governments are pushing hard for a (digital) ID requirement if not already, Web 3 grifters are pushing for digital ID on the blockchain, and Web 0 grifters are pushing for an idpol police state, which de-facto creates a digital ID.
     
     Which is why I'm only using Fedi, self hosted websites, XMPP, RSS feeds, PGP encrypted email, BBS, matome websites, and forums, as these are increasingly becoming the remaining online-enabled technologies left that don't require ID.
