   As you may have noticed, mastodon.social is currently broken. The admin @Gargron is currently reporting this may be a DDoS attack.

   While this is an unusual situation, it's a good idea to have accounts on more than one server for exactly this kind of situation, so that you aren't cut off from the network if one server is having problems.

     No, they'd be two separate accounts.

     A lot of people have an "alt" account mentioned on their profiles, which either posts slightly different content, and/or isn't quite as busy.

     For example I've got a semi-personal account at @FediThing which I use for random stuff that has nothing to do with my main accounts.

     @feditips @Gargron would a person have to do everything twice- like follow somebody- or is there a way to have one account mirror the other automatically?
