@powerllama If you don't follow me, and you don't want to see my posts, you should block me - not complain that you don't like my posts or demand that they be made unlisted (and thus unsearchable). "You do you" indeed.

@pluralistic I understand how it works, and I don't follow you here. Someone I follow is following you, so your posts show up in my federated timeline. So I see your 20 post thread fill up my federated timeline. You do you though

You have misunderstood how "unlisting" works (unlisted toots are hidden only for nonfollowers on the same instance, not followers). As noted in my bio, I post long threads from this account and there are many ways to get my essays if you don't like my Mastodon style - RSS, newsletter, Medium, Tumblr, a blog, etc. I recommend unfollowing me here and subscribing to one of those if you prefer. @pluralistic please, Cory, if you’re going to do a long thread like that can you hit the little globe icon and unlist the replies to the thread? They’ll still be visible to your followers and as a thread when you click through, but won’t take over the federated feed. They don’t collapse here. Thank you
