I'm honestly glad Ruben #Gallego is running. #Sinema has ignored her constituents in favor of corporate and personal greed. Don't let her bullshit her way into another term. Also hope since there a more receptive Governor that they can get a ranked choice ballot initiative ready for 2024 so we can avoid this nonsense in the future. #Arizona
@slsinger unfortunately running for Senate is incredibly expensive, especially when running against an incumbent. He had to know that there was a demand for him before he could actually announce a run. His voting record doesn't show any sign of using the office for personal gain. i think he has a shot. https://news.yahoo.com/ruben-gallego-could-win-arizona-195057270.html
@Zammer I'm hesitant about supporting him... no fewer than three times, I saw him post that he wanted constituents to show *their* commitment to *him* (in the form of $, of course) before *he* would commit to running.
I'm sorry; that's backwards.
Candidates must show their commitment to the people they may represent; support will follow for those who do.
@tcely I'll have to do a deep dive on the other two but RCV seems to be mostly opposed by centrists who stan the status quo so forgive me if I'm skeptical.
@slsinger I will give you this much, I somehow got on his mailing list and he sends like 3 emails a day, all asking for money. It's very annoying. I still like him but if it comes out that Sinema's not running and someone more universally likeable steps in, I might have to support them.
@Zammer According to Open Secrets, he's sitting on a war chest of $1.1 million.
No one even knows if Sinema's running (or running Dem). My *guess* is that she's setting herself up for something more lucrative and won't be a factor.
Anyway, I'm going to wait to see how the field shapes up before I commit.
