@andy @hankg "regularly" is fetching really often, means every few minutes. That's why I recommend to set 'adjust_poll_frequency' => true, in your local.config.php and also to set 'min_poll_interval' => 5, to a minimal poll interval that you feel safe about (like the 5 minutes in the example)

@heluecht @andy Also best case scenario the Nitter servers are getting saturated. The main ones especially are becoming too limited. It is a small enough project that it may not have risen up on Musk's radar but I imagine their days are numbered too.

@heluecht @hankg In this test, I used my own (self-hosted) nitter server and managed to produce rate limitation by constantly pulling ONE nitter RSS feed [!] via my Friendica server. The Friendica setting for the RSS feed was set to regularly and within a few hours rate limitation occurred rendering the nitter server unusable.

@heluecht @hankg I'm afraid my suggestion ?does not scale up. I've extensively tested this and can now say that regularly pulling RSS feeds from a nitter server in an automated way will cause rate limitation. Nitter seems unable to handle the required frequency to create a near live coming in of posts.

@heluecht @hankg An alternative to getting posts from the Twitter network via the connector, would be using a nitter server to follow Twitter accounts via RSS feeds.

@heluecht I'm just shutting down my Twitter bridge at this point. My keys started getting flagged for TOS issues in December. I'm done with the whole Twitter thing at this point.

As you might have heard, there are issues with the Twitter API. Several favourite clients stopped working, while others (still) do. By now there hadn't been any word if there is some massive Problem or if this was some deliberate action.

Whatever is causing these issues, at least my connection still works. How about yours? Is the Twitter connector on your systems still running?
