Honestly the license and ruleset problems were solved problems before any of this started.
What I want is a non-profit that produces and publishes a complete #ttrpg with all setting material and suppliments under an #OpenCulture license. Written for use with open rules. WITHOUT it being bog standard OSR / D&D.

@trashheap again, it would require so much money to do. no one is going to do this for free. it's like telling a graphic artist that they'll be paid in xp.
Even the linux foundation takes in massive donations from major corps since the product is of such a huge use. RPGs just aren't that much of a financial use. It's why we don't see free use movie studios or amusement parks. Even museums need huge donations to stay afloat.
I do understand your frustrations. but sadly, #capitalism happens

@trashheap unfortunately, settings ARE the issue. Rules are free and open. It's the settings, monsters, lore, etc that are IP. I don't foresee anyone dumping so much art, time, passion, and money into something and make it "open" and free for use.
