   Is it possible to add #monetization features to the #Fediverse? There are a lot of mainstream sites that have #gifting features for content creators in which they can convert those gifts to a payout. It'd be amazing if something like that could be implemented throughout the Fediverse to #donate to people's favorite content creators. ? Might help the Fediverse gain traction more quickly as well. People stick with a lot of #mainstream platforms because there's money to be made there. It's harder to leave big corporate platforms when your livelihood is attached to it. But if such a feature existed in the Fediverse that was compatible across all Fediverse platforms ? IMAGINE the growth that would happen and all the opportunities that would open up for people. We could all finally break free from the financial shackles that have content creators tied to #corrupt #BigTech #corporations, bring them here to the Fediverse in which they have the potential to be supported by followers across all platforms. ?

     @aevisia @alex I'm building it, but with limited success so far. Maybe it's because there's a strong sentiment against commerce in Fediverse, or because Mitra project is focused on censorship-resistant monetization (cryptocurrency).
     Nevertheless, the development continues. If you want to try it I can send you an invite to my instance.

     Yes please! I'd love to give it a try! ? As for the resistance against it goes, please don't let it discourage you. No matter what I think there are always going to be people who are resistant to change, but the thing is, just because the feature is being developed doesn't mean anything is going to change for those people. I am sure there will be instances and admins who feel the same way they do and purposely not use those features or take them out if that's what they want for their instance. That's one of the great things about the Fediverse, is how flexible it is and if you don't like a certain platform or server you can just join a different one. But opening the door to monetization so that the option is there for people to have those features could be huge! It could be what finally gets people to leave abusive big tech platforms for something that finally empowers people. ? I already posted about it on my Facebook page and several people were excited about it having no idea what the Fediverse even is. ? But people hate platforms like Facebook and would love to leave, they just don't feel like they can leave because their businesses are so intertwined with it. What you're working on could be what finally opens the door for all these people to break free from big tech, so I hope you don't give up on this project! I really believe in it!
     
     I'm really enthusiastic about this so whatever you need in terms of feedback, testing new features, etc I'd love to help!
