   @KAOS Of course you're wrong, the edge pieces are easier to spot because of their straight edges in the initial mass of parts. Once you're done with the frame, you can do the sorting you mention, but it isn't the best strategy right out of the gates. ?

     For most jigsaw puzzles, the best strategy is *not* to do the edges first, but to roughly sort the pieces by color and/or pattern and then start with one of those piles.
