   Mastodon supports attaching audio files as well as images or video. You can attach them with the same button as for photos or videos.

   Audio files can be any length, as long as the file size is under 40 megabytes. The supported formats are MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC, OPUS, AAC, M4A and 3GP.

   The track used in the example is "Modern Technology" by Xvenox under CC-By-SA

     Yeah, this is another example of why third party apps are a better option than the official apps.

     According to the github looks like they may fix this on the next iOS update though?

     @feditips looks like the Mastodon iOS app silently ignores audio attachments.

     @tootapp supports it, and even has a trippy visualizer!

     I uploaded a public domain image separately, image upload is available when attaching audio files on the web interface of Mastodon.

     If you don't upload a separate image, it defaults to showing either your profile picture in the player or (if there is one) the image embedded in the file.

     Android of certain age wont play it no progress bar, no sound. But the play button changes to pause.

     @feditips what seems to be lacking is downloading .webp images, they even show as .jpg in the address then they get saved as .webp somehow, need to convert to .jpg

     @feditips That track is really sweet. Any idea where I might be able to learn more about Xvenox? I can't really find anything about them online.
