   Personally, this is Trump telling his minions to exact personalized vengeance.

   More broadly, this is an attempt to attach strings on organizations where work can be transformative to the mutated form of the Trump administrative state.

   For a law firm, this means that the admin knows it has one less institution that will file administrative lawsuits if it intrudes on civil society.

   For a security firm, this means that it has one more partner organization that will tailor its offerings to the whims of the new organization, no matter the effect on their morals or the bottom line.

   This should sound familiar to some: for security organizations, this is very close to how large security firms in the PRC, such at QAX, operates. It serves the state first and foremost because the state has strings on them - institutionally, because their business license is via the MIIT. But also via party commissars who make sure that by principle the firm serves the party's best interests.

   In this case, I argue that acceding to an EO is equivalent to allowing access by a party commissar.

   You're going to hear a lot about celebrating Kissinger's death.

   It’s a distraction. What matters is this man embodied the U.S. willingness to kill millions civilians to further its interests.

   In death he should not be absolved; the empire should be examined.

   @ademan Maybe I’m missing something. I get your desire to help, but I don’t see why gun creators would care that much about setting up a peertube instance, beyond the ideological reasoning about independence from corporate interests.

   In terms of actual exposure, a peertube instance doesn’t help them.
