The ‘Growing up in the online world’ consultation closes on 26 May 2026. What’s being proposed will make the Internet riskier, not safer. This includes: Expansion of online ID checks – Age verification goes beyond adult content with privacy-invasive checkpoints hitting lawful spaces. VPN restrictions – Making access dependent on ID checks threatens cybersecurity. Internet curfews – Blocking content or services after certain times entrenches ID checks. Social media ban – Banning under-16s is only possible by checking the age of every user.

    4 DAYS LEFT ⏰️

There's not much time left to push back on the expansion of online ID checks across yet more of the Internet.
