No, they could not get a connectivity provider to drop them, or even if they could it wouldn't even matter because there are countless others to move to without any interruption. What's relevant is that they wouldn't have to.
The only reason Colbert is relevant and the only reason they could cancel him was that he operates within the system of capitalist media with capitalist incentives and reaches the audience who deems that prestigious and authoritative.
It's useful that there are people doing mildly subversive things within that system as long as they can, but take them out of that and put them on the fedi and they're just the more boring, least radical person here.
