@ambiguous_yelp @delta @gh0stz0x Yes, but it's my understanding that not all Tor relays or bridges support them as it needs to be implemented on both the client and server. So this is an option but it's not one you'd want to rely on long term as your access to the network is limited by the number of nodes that support it. I'm also not sure if it works with SimpleX's 2-hop onion routing design.
It appears SimpleX doesn't try to use any pluggable transports at all right now and I'm kind of surprised they're not using it.
This paper on using Pluggable Transports in China to circumvent the GFW is not giving me a lot of hope. I am hunting for more recent research in this area.
