From now on, I won't be talking about other platforms.
It's pointless.
If you're on another platform and I can't communicate with you, then you don't exist.
Going to those other platforms and asking people to bridge or activate Fediverse seems to just get people who want to have a reason not to, even if those reasons are based on lies or misinformation.
Then if I stay here and talk about those platforms, people who are on all of them will reply and tell me why I'm wrong about them and that I can't have an opinion if I don't use those platforms.
It's just so, so very pointless.
@Lokjo it doesn't select them like other platforms.
It's completely based on the amount of favorites and boosts within a certain time period that originated from your instance.
Maybe if you find a better "European" instance, you'd get the experience you seek? Though I can't be sure since I've been on my own instance from the beginning. However, knowing how it works might help you get this experience yourself with some experimenting.🤷♂️
And So It Begins (Needles & Pins)
Fedivision 2024 opened my eyes to how much good music is being made by independent artists on decentralised platforms.

@hypolite The problem is the phantom concept of AI polluting the decisions.
If you could say:
If a platform allows AI then it will become nothing but spam
If a platform blocks AI then it will block people using Ethical AI
But, part of it is that Ethical AI isn't real, and AI is a problematic branding term.
But part of it is that Google/Microsoft/Facebook are allowing AI posts because that way their AI marketing is easier, but it's ruining platforms.
It's really obvious but it's so hard to put into words.
@bynkii @evan fediverse is inherently vulnerable to different classes of attacks (as well as a few of the same classes or attacks) compared to traditional, monolithic social media platforms.
It's important to identify the likely vectors now and have plans against them rather than taking a purely reactionary posture and constantly being one step behind the bad actors.
Remember: always ask yourself "WW4D" - "what would 4chan do?"
