Since US invaded our sovereign country, Hawaii - tops the US in police killings, disproportionately Pacific Islander - Is by far #1 most economically unequal 'state’ in the US. Worse than LA, NY, and DC by far. - Leads the US in the school-to-prison pipeline - #1 in rounding up children, especially Native Hawaiians. Part of the continued US attempt to destroy us indigenous people and lifeways. - The US banned our Hawaiian language, nearly extinguishing it. Less than 100 kids spoke it in the 80's. Kids are STILL punished for speaking Hawaiian today. My mother's hands were shattered for speaking Hawaiian in school. - Native Hawaiians / Pl have the HIGHEST rate of incarceration in the US (4x whites), and the lowest healthy life expectancy. . - Our Native Hawaiian children are also targeted by the US for child removal to prevent parents from passing Hawaiian language, history, and lifeways down to the next generation. CPS is a tool for cultural genocide.
