   @Goalkeeper @Quentel @spectatorindex @BigDuck @Hoss I've made this point before, the pressures that resulted in the economic crisis in the early 70s had long been exerting themselves. "Steady-state growth" economics, or constant inflation as the value of the economy progressively grows, was the new norm, and ditching the gold standard let off pressure, but the terminus of the modern economy was set in stone.
