@newt @marine He just failed at life if he's doing .NET, and then encouraged others to be mediocre: "Don't be good at your job, don't have craftsmanship. Go get laid instead." You know what will 100% get your dick sucked? Knowing C.

:kenbw: I FUCKING MEAN IT :tomduff:

"He who has attained mastery of an art reveals it in his every action. True mastery transcends any individual skill." :thesamurai:

You know who never gets laid? Someone who says "I'm so afraid of a program crashing that I am afraid to type some things into my computer." It comes out through his pores in the form of a sticky grease and women can smell his shame. What is there to be afraid of? A core dump? Worst-case, you reboot. "I'm terrified to do something scary that might make the computer say an error" is a thing that people laugh at Boomers for saying, and then those same people will literally tell you that C makes them feel unsafe.

If you have hacked the machine, if you have debugged it without a core dump or memory probes but by building your own debugging facilities by using a different color to glitch the screen, you look at the computer as a friend. You understand your machine, the tool with which you attain your livelihood. You place your hand on the machine and you understand each other, you sit at your terminal as a skilled horseman would mount his trusted companion, you touch the keyboard purposefully. Women in nearby buildings will start fanning themselves: why? How do they even know?

A boomer comes by: "A computer is a shit thing, it is inside. Go make a railroad." The boomer did not make a railroad: ask the boomer how guitarists get laid.

A zoomer comes by: "Rust is safe. Your program is not safe." Your eyes reveal the depth of your knowledge. The zoomer falls silent.

A knock at the door: your new woman has arrived. She has made tea.
